With this, Clemenceau Medical Center joins an exclusive group of hospitals worldwide, which have passed JCI's stringent clinical quality standards. JCI is the international arm of the independent, non-profit organization JCAHO that reviews and accredits American hospitals.
JCI Accreditation Process
The JCI accreditation was awarded to Clemenceau Medical Center after a rigorous onsite evaluation by an international surveyor team of healthcare experts. The surveyors spent four days interviewing staff and hospital leaders on policies and procedures. They studied the written policies and documentation of the hospital to evaluate whether the hospital was up to the very strict JCI international standards. They surveyed each department individually. The physical plant of the hospital, equipment, as well as outsourced services was subjected to evaluation, with a focus on several aspects, such as patient safety, patient rights, medication management, bedsides policies and procedures of the organization, surgical infection, anesthesia procedures credentialing of medical staff and nurses, leadership & governance of the organization and many others. The ‘Patient Tracer Methodology’ was followed, which involved following the patient from admission to discharge and included examination of patient records and interviewing medical staff. By these methods, the surveyors were able to better evaluate the overall standard of patient care. In order to get accredited a hospital must succeed the 1145 measurable parameters required by the JCI; Clemenceau Medical Center has passed this extensive test with distinction.
