Background

Dr. Selim Nasser is associate professor of Pathology LAU School of Medicine and chief of Pathology at Clemenceau Medical Center. He is a graduate of St. Joseph University, School of Medicine, Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his Pathology residency training and was appointed chief resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He also completed two fellowships in Cytopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Nasser is American Board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology. He held a faculty position in the Pathology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital until his return to Lebanon, where he introduced several new tests, including 1p/19q FISH testing and IDH1 evaluation in brain tumors as well as liquid-based cytology.
He is a founding faculty the Lebanese American University School of Medicine and the director of the Pathology residency training program. Dr. Nasser interests include Breast pathology, Neuropathology, GI pathology, Cytopathology and molecular tumor markers. He has authored several articles in these fields. Dr. Nasser is an active member of local and International pathology societies.
